Delete this module

What happens if you change it to another type of Module, such as Calendar? I had the same thing happen to me with Recent Activity on the sidebar. When I changed it to Calendar, I was able to delete the Module.

Liza - Thanks for getting creative. They lack of "delete" option on the Recent Activity module was by design so it remained a persistent element of all Groupsites, we hadn't thought about the problem Charlie bumped into about somehow having a second one and not being able to delete.  Need to think that one through.  In the meanwhile, thanks for the hack.

After careful re-consideration - Recent Activity modules can now be deleted.  The "i" tab in the menu bar of your Groupsite will now provide a link to Recent Group Activity so that you can always get to the full page activity listing regardless of whether a module exists in that group or not.

I bring this topic up again, not before saying 'Hello' to all of you!

I was super happy when creating modules I want to get rid of now. There are two small modules I want to delete, and there's a wide module I'm thinking of deleting in a near future. Even though I converted these modules into Calendar, Freeform Text, Recent Activity, etc. the option to delete them never turned up.

Sorry you're having trouble deleting your modules. I'm not aware of any open issues related to this. You should be finding the "Delete this Module" option under the gray cogwheel located in the title bar of your modules.  You can see screen shots here:

If you are a manager of your Groupsite and don't see this option, please write to us at support@groupsite.com.

Please include:

- The name of your Groupsite and a link to the page where the problem happens

- whether it's happening in all of your modules, or just some. If just some, please indicate which ones.

- the web browser and version you're using

That will help us troubleshoot what may be happening.
