Wow! Thanks for the overwhelming response to our recent Brand Survey. We appreciate your honest feedback and it helped us make the decision to re-brand as Groupsite.com.

Best of all, while you could have remained anonymous, most of you took the time to identify yourselves. We love getting real feedback from real people.

We heard lots of things! Here are some of the standouts:

What do you think the "CollectiveX" brand stands for?

    • "No idea, and to me the is somewhat irrelevant as the product is simply soooo good I am not interested in the brand. I use and ..

  • Working Manager - Using Jump Buttons

    Categories: Managers' Tip

Just like a newspaper (they still print those, in case you forgot), a Groupsite has a front page. In newspaper jargon the "top of the fold" is where the most important stories and headlines go. That's what people see when it's sitting on the newsstand.

When designing and updating the front page of your Groupsite (the SUMMARY page), you want to quickly highlight the most important things. However, you have limited room "above the fold" in a normal size browser window and without scrolling.

One of the best ways to do this is to create "jump buttons."

    Here's how.

  • Feature Spotlight - Domain Name: Groupsite.com

With our re-brand to Groupsite.com (formerly CollectiveX), there's a significant benefit all Groupsites can take advantage of: the "groupsite.com" domain name.

Now when you create a Groupsite, its web address (URL) is "YOURGROUPNAME.groupsite.com."

Why does this matter? Consider the fact that every company has a Web site. It's an expected part of doing business. When was the last time you received a business card that didn't have a Web address on it?

Now think about groups. Why is a group any less important than a company? It's not. Groups are how things happen. So, when someone asks you if your group ..

  • User Tip - Controlling What Goes Into Your Inbox

    Categories: User's Tip

While Groupsites are a new, powerful tool that change the way groups make things happen, email is still the glue that holds much activity on the Internet together. And, while Groupsites "play" very nicely with email, every user has their own definition of what that means.

Some of you want everything delivered to your inbox, while others would rather keep things out of your inbox. That's why Groupsites give you lots of ways to control exactly how much comes to you, and how much stays where it is and lets you go to it.

There are 4 things you can do ..

  • Groupsite.com | How Groups Make Things Happen

Last month, we surveyed our customers about the CollectiveX and Groupsite brand names. Response was overwhelming (thank you!) and gave us plenty to think about. This was in addition to what we gathered from non-users, our friends, advisors, Google...our families and even my neighbor (who doesn't use a Groupsite, but does like to play golf and, apparently, answer survey questions).

Next, we took your feedback and embarked on exercises to better define our brand. I'll spare you all the details, but will share that it involved great scrutiny, input, care, concern and creativity; many lively conversations; a new subgroup on our ..

  • Groupsite.com Rebrand Q & A

Interested in our rebrand? Fantastic. Here's the scoop:

Why did you change your name?

We researched - talked, looked, listened and broke out our monkey (SurveyMonkey, that is) -- with CollectiveX users and non-users; mentors and board members; friends, family, investors and advisors. Heck, we even asked strangers at the local bar. We queried our spouses over the dinner table -- and Google, online. We confirmed that Groupsite.com is

    • easier to remember
    • more user-friendly
    • more descriptive of our service, and
    • more likely to be found on the Internet

    ...than "CollectiveX."

By and large, customers told us they like "Groupsite.com" over "CollectiveX," ..

  • Changing Who Pays the Bill for Premium Features

    Written by Shaun / on 05/29/2009 / 0 Comments

Sometimes a Groupsite manager uses their personal credit card to pay for Premium Features of a Groupsite and at a later date, it is decided that another group member (or perhaps a corporate card) should be picking up the tab.

Here are the steps to make the change:

    1. Log-in to the Groupsite

    2. Select the MANAGER tab

    3. Select the Upgrade Groupsite subtab

    4. Scroll almost to the bottom of the bottom of the page and their is a line that says "Your next charge: "date/year" on card ending XXXX (change card).  Click the "change card link)
