External Links

Is there a way to edit the external links I've created in the sidebar? I'm fairly new to CollectiveX, so I can't even remember what it was like before the change. Right now, the only things I can do with the links are View, Discuss, Hide or Rate them. I can't even delete them and start over without deleting the whole module. Is this a bug or just the way it is?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Liza - No bug, just wrong wording and a design oversight.

First of all, in order to do anything to an existing link (as a manager) you must first roll over the link with your mouse for the little cogwheel icon to appear.  That's crazy not-intuitive.  The cogwheel should be visible to managers at all times.

Secondly, the term "hide this" actually should be "delete" cause that is what it does.

Finally, we probably should have an "edit this" option but for now, simply delete ("hide") and add a new link.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Hope that helps,

Shaun

That'll work! Thanks!

Liza,

We've now removed the mouseover "effect" - the cogwheel icons should now be visible anywhere that you are able to interact with it requiring you to mouseover first in order to "discover" the icon.

Great! And I see that Hide This was replaced with Delete This. Let us know if you're able to add an Edit This to that list. It would be great not to have to delete and add when I've made a typo or something.

Thanks!

Liza
