Transition issues reported by Michael Borges
Here's some thing I found that were working great before the new release:
1. On the Member's Profile page I was able to use the "Group By Filter Q & A" to get current group member statistics. For example, if I had 500 members, it would say: 150 out 500 members for a particular question and answer. Now the stats report feature is completely gone. It would be great to have it back since it gave everyone instant access to our group memberhip statistics.
2. The main Calendar is not showing an upcoming event for next week (Sept. 15th) that was entered last week. Oddly, it does appear on the Summary page in the "Upcoming Events" module, but not on the main Calendar in both the Month or List View. This is disturbing because I worked hard to invite organizations that have upcoming events to help make our site more active. I did a test and added a "test event", but that didn't show up on the Calendar either.
3. On the Discussion Forums page I'm supposed to able to sort the Forum topics, but when I hover over the little cross arrows (icon), it turns to a "hand" pointer and doesn't do anything when I click to "grab" it and move the forums up or down the page. Evidently this new sort feature has a bug.
4. I used to have a place to check the status of my group managers, but now I can't find it anymore. Maybe it's been moved or there's a different (or new) way to access my list of authorized group managers. But no "biggie", there's only 3 of us and I know who they are, but maybe others might like this feature back.
5. Some of the site features appear to be loading normally, while many others seem to get "stuck" while loading. Either they don't load at all or eventually they just time out. I've noticed this problem with different features on the top menu, but sometimes they work and other times not. The same holds true for changing and saving things. I'll click to save some small changes or activities, but then it keeps trying to load even though sometimes the change appears somewhere else, but no confirmation was given, etc.
6. Today a new member joined who then got an endorsement from a non member. I've never seen this before, so I'm wondering how this could have happened? The only thing I can think of is that the person endorsing our new member could be on another Groupsite, so it's possible, but I though I would check in case there is a security breach or some related error.
Ok, that's as far as I got today, maybe tomorrow will be better!
Thanks tech team for checking out these bugs!

Michael - Thanks for taking the time to go through the site as you did. Here are my intial thoughts:
1. This might sound crazy, but I don't remember the feature you mentioned. I will check with the team and see what I am missing.
2. Got Joe looking into this one.
3. Our bad, we didn't finish the coding for that feature. Duh! Will be there soon.
4. Go to the MANAGER tab then select the MANAGE MEMBERS subtab. In thenew "Membership Overview" area at the top of the page you will see that you have 6 Managers, 15 Bouncing Addresses and O suspended. Click on the number of managers (6) and you will see the list of your existing managers.
5. We are looking into why some stick some of the time. Joe is taking a look at how we are using caching to help with some of this.
6. I left you a phone message on the endorsement feature. This is a system-wide feature. If someone endorses you while you are in a shared Groupsite and nyou then join another Groupsite, the endorsement stays on your profile page even though the personwho endorsed you may not be in the 2nd group.
And tomorrow will definitely be better!
Shaun,
Ok, thanks for addressing all these issues. On number 4 (Manager tab),
I just needed to mouse over "Managers" to see it get highlighted with a
link, so thanks for reminding me!
Also, I got your voice message and email about the endorsement feature.
Thanks for explaining, that's what I thought was going on, but I'd like
to learn how to research these people that are NOT in our group. When I
click their Profile, it doesn't go anywhere, probably because I'm not a
member of their group, etc. but maybe there's a workaround to at least
vet them out for security/verification purposes.
The only other important (urgent) issue left is probably the Calendar.
When I do a test entry, it doesn't appear after it's saved, though it
does appear (only) on the front Summary page, but NOT on the main
Calendar "Month" view.
One more thing I'd like to add: When I Preview posts, it goes into an endless loop (loading) cycle, so it's usually best click Submit or Post Reply (as needed) to actually save and view the post. So please check into the problem with using the "Preview" feature for any/all kinds of posts, including email.
That should do it for now.
Thanks again,
Michael
Michael -
1. We do not provide access to member profiles of groups that you do not belong to for privacy reasons. As for "vetting" endorsements, each member can control whether or not certain Endorsements are shown by selecting "My Settings" tab then the "My Endorsements" subtab, where they can uncheck any they wish not to be seen. Hope that helps.
2. Are you still haveing your calendar issue? I can't re-create the problem. Works fine for me.
3. Same with preview issue, works fine for me. We had some nasty gremlins hanging the system pretty bad that we finally worked through. Don't know if that was the issue. Try now and let me know how it works.
Thanks,
Shaun
(PS - I previewed this post and all is well)
Shaun,
Ok, thanks for the above replies.
Re:
2. Are you still having your calendar issue? I can't re-create the problem. Works fine for me.
Evidently, yes!
Please log in to my groupsite here:
http://www.musicpal.collectivex.com/main/summary
You'll see the first Upcoming Event is on Sep. 15 (Chicago New Media Summit)
But when you go to the Calendar month view page here:
http://www.musicpal.collectivex.com/calendar
it doesn't show up there at all.
I also did another test today to add an event to the Calendar, but after everything was submitted (saved), it still doesn't appear. Please login to my account and try this yourself. If you are still not convinced, I'll have to send you a Jing screencast so you can see exactly what's happening.
BTW, I'm using the latest version of FireFox 3.0.1, but hopefully this is not causing the problem.
Thanks!
Michael
I am also having the same calendar problem - just entered an event and it shows up on the summary page, but does not show on either calendar views (month or list).
Everyone,
We'll be looking into this tomorrow afternoon/evening, and we should be able to have it resolved within the next 24 hours. Either way, I'll keep everyone posted.
I'm still having issues with what Michael posted for number 5. I will click on something on the page, and it seems to "hang up" for a while. I can see that it is trying to do what (or go where) I ask, but it just doesn't get there. If I click on the exact same thing a second time, it seems to push it through and goes where I want.
Could this be an issue with my browser? I'm using FF 2.0.0.16.
I kept thinking it was just high-traffic volume bogging things down, but it just happened again a few minutes ago.
Everyone,
I think we've finally taken care of most of the hang ups. I think they'll be much more rare from now on. As always, thanks for giving us the insight into what you're experiencing on CollectiveX!
Hi Joe - for the most part, the calendar is working well. I have a small bug on my site where myself and another member have been adding the same event to the calendar (an event for the 31st October). It shows up on the summary page and the list view of the calendar. It actually shows up 4 times on the list view, but the event is not displaying on the "month" view. Wondering what might be causing this small bug?
Gareth,
Let me know if this is fixed now....
Hi Joe
Unfortunately, the event is still absent from the month view, although present in the list view. If it is of any relevance, there is a multiple day event (29th to 31st) that falls on the day in question. Could that block it in any way? Our calendar is heavily populated with stuff.
