Is the above possible ? Members are complaining that recent flurry of kudos on one of my forums is distracting from the actual goal of the forum, and are requesting if we could turn off the kudos feature. Is this possible ?
Regards, Michael

MIchael - Our upcoming release will offer a "Content Customization" option which will allow you to turn features off that you do not want. That being said, your current issue may be able to be solved by simply informing the members of your group via an email blast or policy post on the most effective way to use Kudos without creating unwanted clutter within the group.
As a manager, you can also remove or suspend any members who prove not to have the group's best interest in mind.
CollectiveX is about helping groups make things happen, not simply giving a bunch of individuals yet another place to post random meanderings about themselves on the web. Their are plenty places where that can be done already.
Thanks,
Shaun
I notice that the original question about removing or disabling Kudos was answered back in 2008, when Groupsite.com was still known as CollectiveX. At that time you posted that the Content Customization option would allow managers to turn off features we don't want.
I've visited the Content Customization area of my Groupsite several times now, but do not see an option to disable Kudos. At the very least, I would like to eliminate some of the kudos types, i.e. the reasons for giving kudos such as "he/she is attractive." While our site is social in a sense, we are using our community as a way to garner user feedback and to facilitate usability testing on our products and services. As such, while I as a manager would like to give kudos to say the most active members, I do not want to endorse or facilitate any type of dating or other similar behaviors.
In closing, can you please point out how we are able to either customize or disable kudos? Thanks!
PS - we have a pro account
Hi Natalie,
We are sorry for any confusion. When "Content Customization" was released, it was not released as described in the post from 2008. Here is a link to our Group Blog that explains "Content Customization" http://champions.groupsite.com/post/content-customization . Unfortunately, you are not currently able to turn off features.
With exception of a few areas, Groupsites today don't allow you to change the names of or delete/hide the main navigation tabs or sub tabs. For instance, "COMMUNICATE," "SHARE," and "NETWORK" cannot be changed (although "Summary" can be renamed to "Home" or "Main.)
One reason is because many active users are involved in more than one Groupsite, and it's important that the navigation stay clean and straightforward no matter what Groupsite they are in. We have been considering making a change to this functionality to allow more customization by Groupsite managers, but it does not exist today. Here is another link to our Group Blog that explains the Navigation Bar:

Regarding Kudos or Endorsements (this is what they are called in Professional Groups), here is how they work:
Endorsements and kudos enable you to show your personal connection to, or appreciation of, other members. You can manage the visibility of endorsements you've given and endorsements you've received.
Endorsements/Kudos You've Given
You can decide whether your endorsement can be displayed across all of the recipient's groups, or just groups you share with the recipient.
Endorsements/Kudos You've Received
You can decide whether or not you want to make endorsements you've received visible to others.
Endorsements appear in your professional profile. Kudos appear in your social profile. Because of this, you could switch your Group's default profile from social to professional, which will show "Endorsements" not "Kudos". Endorsements do not have a he/she is attractive option. Endorsements has no meaning in our use case. It would be very nice if that functionality could be turned off - similar to what was requested back in 2008.
Hi Danny,
I agree! We (Support) put in a ticket for this request some time ago, however, it has not made it to any priority list, which means it has not yet been given an assessment on difficulty or a schedule date.
I am sorry that we could not be more helpful!
Sincerely,
