Calendar items and time shifting based on individual user time zones
Not sure if this is more of feature request or bug report.
A group user has noted some time specific Calendar events that I've created are appearing on their Calendar view at different times. The time shift matches the difference between our respective time zones, e.g. 2 hours for Mountain zone versus Eastern zone.
I presume that since each user has the opportunity to set their own respective time zone (My Settings / Basic Information) that CollectiveX is associating the time zone of the creating user with each Calendar item created. So for users in other time zones the time zone difference is being applied to the event start and end times.
A pretty handy feature if I was scheduling a conference call among folks in different time zones. However, when scheduling an on-site event in one time zone to which folks in other time zones will be traveling to it is proving confusing.
I'd note this is for a group within an Enterprise account.

Hi Donivan,
Actually, events are created using universal time (UTC).
It is the person viewing the event who's timezone is used to decide which time to display.
If you are seeing something which does not match what I'm describing, please let us know. If it's for an enterprise account, you can contact our support staff or contact me directly to resolve this issue.
For now, I'll close out this ticket, but please let me know if you are still seeing issues.
I'v got a similar issue. I'm setting up telephone meetings across multiple time zones. My event was set for June 10, 9am Hong Kong time which should show up as June 9, 9pm US Eastern, but in fact it was showing up as June 10, 9pm. So CX changed the time to match the time zone but it didn't change the day ...so that doesn't work!
Is there a way to set this differently or is it a bug?
Angela,
I ended up just putting the time of the event with specific time zone in the description field of the event.
My problem was just with CONUS time zones so I can appreciate your situation being more problematic.
Thank you Donivan. That's a useful work-around.
I do think this is a bug that hopefully CX can fix because it would be really ideal to have CX adjust the times properly for all of us around the world.
Yeah I am having issues with this. I am based in Texas but my project is in Hawaii. I would love to be able to set a project for a set time AND timezone and have it just STATE that. sometimes my computer is set one way and sometimes others, sometimes I am here, sometimes there. I'd like to say 2:pm and ALWAYS have that mean 2:pm Hawaii time for this project.
