Getting Emails of Discussions even when I am NOT subscribed

Hi, Sanjay. Most likely this is related to your email preferences (settings controlled by each user) combined with your members' ability to send discussion blasts (controlled at the group level by Groupsite managers).

Regarding your email preference settings:

Under MY SETTINGS > My Preferences in the "My Email Preferences" section, you will see a section for "Group Related Email Blasts."  There you can select "Send me calendar, discussion and email blasts from:" and you can choose either "all group members" or "group managers only."

This setting allows each user to decide how much they want their Groupsite to be something that "pushes" info to their inbox, vs what they prefer to go "pull" from the Groupsite themselves.

Regarding group members' ability to send discusson blasts:

A Groupsite manager can decide who has the ability to send calendar, discussion and email blasts in the first place. This is done from MANAGER > Group Settings > Permission Controls. The first section ("Basic Permission Controls") allows you to decide "Allow all group members" or "only managers" to send each - calendar, discussion and email blasts.

If you're a Groupsite manager of the group where you're receiving new discussion topics by email, check to see if you have your group's "Send Discussion Blast" permissions set to "Allow all group members."

If it is - and you're finding that too much mail is being sent - you may want to consider the more conservative "only managers" setting.
