Search difficulties

I just discovered that I cannot find a discussion on our site by using the search function. I type in words that are in the discussion, as well as its title, and it cannot find the discussion. I'm wondering if it has to do with punctuation being involved in the title. It contains the hyphenated word 'kick-off,' and when I try to type that word in the search bar, it adds a slash (/) next to the hyphen. Even if I type just 'kick' into the search, it still cannot find the discussion. Wondering if this is a bug. I tried every way I could to produce a search to find that discussion. The only way I could find it was by typing in the author's name and clicking on the discussion on her profile page, where it lists actions she's taken on the site.

I'm still finding new instances when the Search function doesn't work. I searched a person's last name, and it didn't show up under Members (first on the list of results). I tried both the first and last name separately. Neither showed up, but I can see them on my Manage Members list (and get to their profile that way).
Hi, Liza. Thanks for reporting this and if you can provide me the member's name, I can take a look. My guess is they are a fairly new member and the information has not yet been indexed and you would find it working correctly when we resolve Ticket #1721. If that's not what's happening, I'll also ask our technical guys to take a look at this member's case, specifically. I
know having Search not working at 100% is a pain. Thanks for your continued patience as we work to address it.
I haven't reported this issue in the past, but I've had this same issue many times. FYI.
Hi, Everyone. Thanks for your patience as we worked to resolve recent postings not indexing in "Search." We deployed a fix last weekend and have tested over the past several days. "Search" appears to be fully restored and I've moved this discussion to our "closed bugs" forum.
