Is there a known Email problem? Delays, etc.

I am having some problems with the send private message option.  When I send messages they sometimes don't show up or they are very delayed.  Not going into my spam, checked that.  Second thing to look at, I just added a second email to see if they would go through to that one but it didn't even send my verify email to that email inbox yet.  Been over half hour.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Mark. We're not aware of any system issues that may be causing this. Email delivery can be delayed for many reasons, including overloaded or unresponsive servers with your email service provider.

As a general rule, you may want to add cxmailer@collectivex.com, notifier@collectivex.com and support@collectivex.com to your address book and/or email whitelist, to help avoid SPAM filters and bounced mail. If you haven't already, you may also want to try another email service provider, and not just a second email address, to see if you experience the same delays. We'll also try to check our log files to see if there's any information that may help.

If you try the above, and do continue to experience this problem, please let us know by writing to us directly at support@collectivex.com.

The original problem is fixed!  Thanks for you advice, I added cxmailer@collectivex.com, notifier@collectivex.com and support@collectivex.com and the problem with emails not coming through appears to have been fixed.  The part that bugs me is that I couldn't see anywhere in Yahoo where these were marked as spam where I could turn it off.  I know when I first signed up they dropped into spam and I told yahoo it wasn't spam, then behind the scenes they marked it and blocked it anyway.  Not sure if it was spam because it didn't go into my spam folder, it just didn't show up.

I found another bug though, when I click the "copy" box when I'm sending emails in collectivex it doesn't appear to be working correctly.  Seems like it mixes things up and sends the copy to the wrong person.  Please advise on this one.  thanks

Appreciate you patience and support.

Mark

Well, I tested this a bunch more tonight.  There is not a problem with sending private messages and using the "send a copy to me" with the exception that it says "this is a copy of a private message to ________" on both the email to me as well as the person I sent the email to.  Not sure why the "To:" person's email would also say it is a copy.

But my bigger issue is that I still don't receive all the emails being sent to me from cxmailer.collectivex.com.  It appears like my Yahoo email server is blocking some of them, but not all of them.  It will allow some to come through, but if I have someone send me 3 quick emails (using send private message) I might only get 1 or 2 of the 3 messages.  They don't all come through.  I added cxmailer@collectivex.com to my contact list and also tried to whitelist it by putting it in my yahoo filters to send it to my inbox.  Didn't work.  Seems like Yahoo is blocking or limiting the amount of emails that come through to me.  Did some searching for ideas on google and some talked about how Yahoo can sometimes "Cap" or limit the emails received for certain mailer ids if it believes they are spam.   Any help is much appreciated!

Mark

I continue to see email delays from collectivex in my yahoo email account.  I believe Yahoo is "throttling" the amount of emails from collectivex.  All other emails come right through.  This isn't just for my groupsite, I belong to the MCC group and I'm getting emails today on Friday that were sent on Monday for "Recent Activity" from the MCC groupsite with cxmailer@collectivex.com.  I also received a email blast from MCC sent by Charlie at 11:47 thursday, but just got it in my inbox Friday.  Also, I joined Champions groupsite and the welcome email was sent on Tuesday morning, but it just showed up in my email late on Thursday evening.  Some emails never come through.  Since so many people use gmail or yahoo email, I think we need to understand this.  My concern is that I'm rolling out a new groupsite to over 500 of my Linkedin members and if they all start sending me private messages from collectivex, I may have problems getting their messages.  Any ideas?

I hope you didn't give up on me.  I'm working with Yahoo mail, but this can take some patients as you can imagine.  Now when I logged into Champions it said my email has "bounced" and asked me to change my email or re-verify.  So in at least one case a message didn't come through.  Most are delayed, can you help me understand were this delay occured?  I have attatched the "full header" from one that was delayed.  I also have yahoo looking at this.

Mark - We definitely haven't given up on you.  We are in the process of investigating why Yahoo isn't playing nice.  Thanks for your detailed feedback.  It is helping us figure out what is going on.

Shaun

Thanks guys!  Really appreciate it.  We launch our group on Wed 5/27 and expect several hundred people to join.  I have 900 in my Linkedin group that I'm bringing over.  We are very excited about our new groupsite.  Thanks for your support.

Mark

Yahoo hasn't really responded with a solution yet.  This is their last email to me.  Have you gotten any response yet?

Mark and Shaun,
To confirm, the only "Bouncing Address" report my group is currently showing is for a member who also has a Yahoo email account. Another (new member) got bounces because of a typo in their address, but this has since been corrected, so there's no more problem.

My group currently have over 1,100+ members and again, currently the only issue reported is with a member who is using a Yahoo email account.

As a suggestion, maybe try using a free Google email account. Personally, I'm using a GoDaddy account and NEVER experience any of these problems! Smile

Cheers,
Michael
