Joe/Clarence,

I wanted to take a second to report a couple things I've been experiencing while doing my inviting campaign.

1) The messaging feature doesn't allow you to customize your message when you use the RE-INVITE function. The content did not change when I was selecting my saved messages in the drop-down box, so I re-wrote a message, and the system defaulted back to sending the orignal message that was sent to the invitees. I realized it when a few members sent back a response with the message in the body. It changed the SUBJECT, but not the BODY of the message.

2) The system allows duplicate emails to be sent out, and it saves them in the PENDING MEMBERS section. So, when I use the re-invite function, the invitees with duplicates in the system receives more than one email. It would be great if the system detected duplicates, just as it detects existing members. You could give the manager an option to re-send an invite to pending members detected in the batch, but I don't think the duplicate emails should sit in the PENDING MEMBER section.

You may decide to allow duplicates to go out when different members send the same person an invitation. It would be good to allow "social proof" to kick in by multiple people inviting the same person.

Sulaiman, can you give me at least one example of a duplicate email address in your invitations list?

Also, Sulaiman, I just release a bug fix for the invitations a day or two ago. Let me know if you still see these problems, I'm unable to duplicate this issue at all.

Now, if you're talking about re-inviting a single member, then it just uses the last invitation message. If you think it's more appropriate, we could allow you to pick a new message for that single member.

ok, I sent the re-invite about a day or two a go also. I'll let you know if it works now. I'll also shoot you a private message with duplicates shortly.

I went ahead and de-duplicated of the system's invitations.

Also, I fixed the "Please Wait" message which should have been present when sending invitations. This way, it is made clear that you should not resubmit the form, press Refresh or Back, etc.

Ok, I see what may have created the duplicates. When I send a large list of invitations, the page doesn't give me any indication of progress, so I normally open up a new window to pull up the PENDING MEMBERS page. While the other window is still processing the invites, I repeatedly refresh the PENDING MEMBERS page to see how many more invites have successfully been sent. I leave the INVITE MEMBERS page open until it gives me the final report of successful invitations.

I don't think its a top priority, but it would be nice to have some kind of progress report as we are waiting for the invitations to complete.
