HTML formatting unintentionally having quirky side affects

Quick format control of copy/paste ASCII & HTML content into discussions
As I mentioned in the feature request thread above, using the special CollectiveX formatting frequently results in unintended effects. In this case look what happens here:
This html:
<a href="http://brasil-it.collectivex.com/network/show_profile/14832">Daniel Cabrera</a>
is displayed like this:
Daniel Cabrera
Obviosuly I did not intend the emoticon, but ">" next to a capital "D" results in >D. That means I can not create ANY links where the first letter is a capital D unless I want emoticons.
