Sidebar Module Problem

I've tried copy/pasting HTML code (amazon associate store) into a the Widget sidebar module.
Not only is it not working, instead it seems to have triggered a bug, is messing up the homepage and now I can't delete it.
Can you help?
Thank you,
Karin

Karin,
Are you still having this issue?
Hi Joe,
Yes I am. I sent an email to CX support but haven't heard back yet.
Thanks!
Karin
Don't worry, I'm on the case. I've already discovered the source of the problem and should have it fixed shortly.
Karin,
The module is fixed now.
I will be posting later today about module issues, what can sometimes cause them, and how to help identify the problems and fix them. Also, for the more technical folk out there, I hope to be able to release some of our algorithms for "sanitizing" and "purifying" HTML as open source - not only will this shed some light on what we have to do, but folks may even be able to contribute or suggest changes.
We definitely need more of a help section on modules as well, and I hope to be able to help in adding that.
The problem is, I have to catch up on statistics and search issues - so besides fixing bugs like this (which I'm more than happy to do), I have to scale back on "extras" that I work on until I get those two issues resolved.
Thanks very much Joe! It looks like it's working.

Okay. I broke it on accident. Would you just delete it?
Okay... now it's working again. Not sure what's up.
