Appearance & Branding - Header Styles - not working?

Can you describe exactly what happens when you try to change the header styles?

When I select a different color for the header background or a different color for the header text and I click "update" but nothing happens. The original colors are still there.

Can you tell me what group this is happening in?  I've tried in a few test groups and I can't get this happen for me.

I tried it in 3 groups that I manage and it seems to be a problem in all of them. One of the groups is tkd.collectivex.com

Also, on a side note, Shaun asked me to send a note to him (which I did) with a widget that I am using for videos from "weshow". The widget works well... but I noticed that as long as I have the widget installed on the page (via freeform text), that I can't drag and drop sections around the page.

I'll take a look at those groups, thanks.

Also, the widget in question is overwriting core CollectiveX JavaScript functions and cannot be supported.  I'm sorry, but widget writers need to be careful not to destroy the environment of the page in which it lives in.

In the future, we are considering sandboxing all user content which contains JavaScript.  The downside to such an approach is that it increases the amount of time it takes for a page to load and limits the capability for integration between the rest of the page and the content itself.

I also had another question... when I try to use the following news feed in the "news feed" module it doesn't seem to work? I've tried the url in other news feed widgets and pages on google and yahoo and it seems to work fine. Any ideas?

That feed should be working fine now, try inputting it again.

I see the problem with your groups now.  They don't have the branding feature enabled.  However, the fields that you are trying to use should not require the branding feature.

Attached is a tiff screen capture.  I want to be able to get the entire background of the Lady Gaga module in a light pinkish color.  This feature used to work in which I thought the whold background turned a certain color--not just behind the text.  OR even if I am wrong---now I can't remove the color behind the text on the Lady Gaga module.

I have also had periodic issues in which I could change fonts or font sizes and I have been in the advanced settings.

Hi Teri,

I am going to send you a private Email for part of my response.  But for the general instruction on how to change the background color in a content module, you have to go to the upper level "Advanced" settings tab located next to the upper level "Settings" tab.  I attached a picture of it.  It is located before you click on the red 'Edit Content" link:
