Why does this not work? I even tried beginning the forum titles with A and B and etc to get them to sort in that order, but no luck. What the?

Tom - As a Groupsite Manager, you should be able to reorder discussion forums in your Groupsite.
If you log-in to your Groupsite and go to the COMMUNICATE tab, it will bring you to the main discussion page. Then, you can either click the "Reorder Forums" button, or the small cross of arrows to the right of each forum. A "Reordering Discussion Forums" pop-up window will display where you can drag your forums into a new order, and then choose to save your settings.
I did just test this in one of my Groupsites and found it to be working properly. If you try the above steps and find it doesn't work, please let us know. You can write here or to support@groupsite.com. Please include the Groupsite where you're having the problem and the web browser and version you're using. We'll take a look to see what may be happening.
I can't this to work either! The Re-order button is gone and I want to move a discussion to the first page of forums. I have so many forums that I can't drag it up. Suggestions?

This is Celeste. I hope all is well. I am unable to find any trouble with using the Re-order Forum functionality within discussion forums. I will write to you from Support so that I can get additional information such as the full name and URL of the Groupsite in which you are experiencing a problem and the web browser and version that you are using.

Hi Groupsite Users:
I am posting this information in case you run into an issue with reordering discussion forums. This functionality has changed for Groupsite's that have been moved to our New Application for Discussions. We only have a small percentage of our Groupsites currently on the New App for discussions. We will be eventually migrating all of our Groups over... but slowly. For Groupsites on the New App for discussions, there is no longer a "Reorder Forums" button like with the Old App discussions. Now you can just drag the cross-hairs on the forum to reorder. There is no need to open a special pop-up anymore. Again, this is only for Groupsites that have already been moved over to our New App for discussions.
The move to the New App for discussions is seamless, but if you no longer see a "Reorder Forums" button, you more than likely have already been moved to our New App for discussions.

I am trying to re-order the Forums and cannot do anymore ? Does the functionality still exist ?

Hi Sanjay,
Yes, Groupsites still have the functionality to reorder forums. This occurs at the main Grousite level under Communicate > Discussions. At present, this may be done either by using a "Reorder Forums" button or by dragging and dropping gray crosshair icons to the right of the forum title. The method available depends on whether your Groupsite's discussions are in our "new" discussions app or "old" app.
If you are a Groupsite Manager and do not see the "Reorder Forums" button, most likely your Groupsite is on our "new" app. You can simply drag-and-drop your discussions into the order you desire. You can check out details and a screen shot here:

I am still having problem. Cannot see a Re-order button or cannot drag and drop. Tried with Firefox 13.01 and IE 8.

I'm sorry you're having trouble. I have just tested again and am not able to duplicate this on a PC using Firefox 13.01 or IE8. A few preliminary things to check:
1) be sure you are not in your "network" view - you can check this by logging in to your Groupsite and going to the "Switch Groupsites" button in the top right corner. (If you are in your network view, you will not be able to reorder forums).
2) Check that you have a manager status in the Groupsite.
If you're still having trouble after checking these things out, please contact us at support@groupsite.com. We will need to do some troubleshooting. *Please include the details of the Groupsite(s) where the problem is happening, and a screenshot of a forum list where the problem is happening.
