Send an email to invite members to a sub-group

Hi - it would be really handy if there was a way to email members an invitation to join a subgroup. Currently non-members receive an email but members aren't notified until they log on to their GroupSite.
Quite often people don't regularly visit their GroupSite and so they aren't aware that they have been invited to a subgroup. Also the pop-up invitation surprises some users and that just cancel out of it without reading it.
If members received an email invitation it would help with both issues.
thanks

Send an email to invite members to a sub-group | 1 | 0 | 1676 |
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your feedback! It is always appreciated. The decision to "not send another email when a current member is invited to join a Subgroup" is a very conscious decision on our part. With the amount of mail that is delivered from our Platform daily which includes email blasts; discussion blasts, private messages; recent activity digests, calendar invites, password resets, etc., we are very strategic and frugal when determining how to best incorporate functionality into our site that will not further tax or clutter our Platform.
We also considered the confusion that could be created if we sent Subgroup email invites to current members. People often skim email and they might think that they are receiving an invitation to something that they have already joined (the main group).
The decision to "not send a Subgroup email invite to a current member" is not something that we plan to change... at least not in the near future.
I am sorry that we could not be more helpful at this time, but we do appreciate and value your input.
Sincerely,
Celeste Sharper Wooten
