Gender sensitivity

I have been reading past discussions about having the gender field no longer be required, but is there a way to edit the categories. We are working with a diverse population and are advocating for diverse sensitivity, but the fact that the only choices are male/female discredit our message. Any way for a manager to edit that drop down field to include things like "transgender" or "on the gender spectrum" or "prefer not to answer"?

Hi Robyn,
I'm sorry, it is not possible to edit the Gender field. However, we do have Groupsites that have successfully and specifically addressed diverse populations using the Custom Profile Questionnaire. The questions are customizable by a Groupsite Manager. You can read more about this feature, here:

I hope this helps!
Hi Robyn,
To chime in on this conversation, I also want to add that as you mentioned, the Gender question on the Groupsite.com Platform has been modified so that it is no longer a "Required" field as previously identified by a red asterisk "*". In regards to the Gender field options, the user can now select male, female or unspecified. When the user does not select a custom profile picture, we insert default images for gender selection female, male, no selection: (see attached screen shot).
