Changing a Group's Link

Hello everyone,

I already sent an e-mail to the support mail about this, however having received no reply, and being in need of urgent help I decided to see if you can help me.

I am the manager of the group located at www.ibeb.groupsite.com.

I belong to a research institute and the initial purpose was to create a group for the entire institute, hence the link.

Unfortunately there was a minor setback and for the time being only my research group will be using it.

Thus I would like to know what do I need to do to change the link from www.ibeb.groupsite.com to www.mi-ibeb.groupsite.com?

(Besides sending an e-mail to support, since I already did that and received no reply)

Thank you!

Best regards,

Pedro Barata

Hi Pedro,

We are sorry for any confusion.  We do not see a report from you to Support@groupsite.com.  We do see a report from you in Support dated November 19, 2010, for a request to join our Champions Groupsite, which was approved.  We also see the Champions post dated today at 6:24 EST.

Someone from Support will be sending information to you directly that will explain your options regarding changing your underlying URL.  Until someone has an opportunity to respond to you, you can get additional information from our Group Blog  http://champions.groupsite.com/post/how-to-change-the-name-of-your-groupsite

Hi Celeste,

I have already been contacted by the support team, so thank you for your attention.

Just to be sure I double-checked the e-mail I sent and the address was: support@collectivex.com. This address was auto-generated by the support page where the matter of changing a group's name and URL is addressed. So if this is the wrong address, maybe you should correct it to prevent further trouble.

Once again I thank you for your quick reply, I am really satisfied with groupsite and it would be a shame if I had to give up on it due to an URL problem.

Sincerely,

Pedro Barata

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for the clarification.  Groupsite.com is formerly CollectiveX.com.  Support@collectivex.com forwards to Support@groupsite.com.  I did test this today just to be sure that it was still forwarding.  The forwarding does work, however, the test message that I sent from my personal Email Address did arrive in the support@groupsite.com mailbox as spam.  I did search for your original message in Spam, but it still was not there.   I cannot explain that one.

If it has not already happened, Support will be contacting  you directly regarding the change in your underlying URL.  Support will handle it from here.

Sincerely,

Dear Pedro et. all,

There must be some type of technical issue going on with regard to your groupsite.com registration. I see that you are working with Client Services/Support so I will not get in your way at this time.

Thank you,

David Shamer

Group Manager

Hi David,

I am confused by your post.  Are you experiencing a problem?  You mentioned Pedro.  How is Pedro connected to your issue?  Can you provide me with the details of the problem as well as the name of the Groupsite to which you are referring?  If you are experiencing a problem with your Groupsite, write to us at support@groupsite.com .

Sincerely,

Hi David,

I really didn't understand your post.

The only thing I wanted was to change my group's link, and thanks to the fantastic Support at Groupsite I managed to do so fairly quickly.

There was no technical issue it was just a mater of changing the link.

By the way: I would like to take this opportunity to thank Celeste for all the help!

Best regards,

Pedro Barata

It's my pleasure Pedro!

I am assuming that the technical problem has been solved and the Howard County group is back in service. Happy Holidays to each and everyone who views this post.

Hi David,

Can you further explain?  Can you tell me the name of the Groupsite to which you are referring?  Did you report a problem through support@groupsite.com?  When did you report a problem?

Sincerely,

Celeste Sharper Wooten
