Sub-group permissions

We're just getting started with GroupSite and are looking at using sub-groups extensively.
I'd like to be able to control, on a sub-group by sub-group basis who can do things within a sub-group. So, for example I'd like to be able to say sub-group managers can do e-blasts to the members of their specific sub-group but not give them permission to send e-blasts across the entire site.
Is this possible? It seems to be all or nothing.
thanks
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
The permission controls today are for the main group level and designated for managers only or all members. We do not currently have separate controls for subgroup admins, nor do we currently have permission controls for subgroups so there is not a way to allow subgroup admins to do something that is not designated at the main group level. But we are working to change this!!! Our users have demanded this functionality, and we agree that it needs to be added. The current challenge with Subgroups is when the Subgroup admin is not also a Groupsite Manager.

Is it possible for a subgroup member to be locked out of main group discussions?
Hi Paul,
No, it works the other way. Once you are in a main Group, you have access to the information in a main group unless you have changed Permissions to restrict access to certain files, folders or discussions to managers only. However, you can restrict main group members from access to information in Private Subgroups.
I hope this helps!
