Adding members to subgroups

saw some discussion on this a few weeks back but nothing recently. Is there yet a way to 'assign' my existing Groupsite members to subgroups without having to invite them and then wait for them to accept? This is really critical for my 1300+ members who will not understand why I cannot just add them to their subgroup. Monitoring who has accepted and who has not is just too complicated.

Hi, Katie. We currently have this topic open in these threads:

Groupsites don't provide this ability today. We agree completely that this enhancement would be useful, but don't have an esimated delivery date yet for this.
When you invite existing Groupsite members to a subgroup, they will see a pop-up window the next time they log-in where they can accept or decline your invitation. (The invitation is not delivered by email). You may want to consider letting your members know ahead of time how the system works, if you decide you do want to try using the current system. Inviting members in smaller batches may also help in monitoring. I know this isn't ideal, but hope this helps.
