How would you compare collectivex to ning.com? Are we getting more for the money using collextivex?

I can't speak to Ning.com in detail but I will point out the following.
Ning is a platform for creating your own social network (i.e., mini myspace).
CollectiveX (Groupsites) is a platform for creating your own social collaboration community.
The difference between social networking and social collaboration are as follows:
Social Networking is centered around the individual (i.e., friends list) and what they are doing (individual-centric)
Social Collaboration is centered around the group (i.e., group recent activity) making things happen collectively (group-centric)
Social Networking usually involves a lot of social socializing and media distractions (i.e., music players and heavy emphasis on photo galleries and videos) where productivity is secondary if it happens at all.
Social Collaboration is focused more on productivity (making things happen collectively) by combining the most useful features from collaboration software, communication software (listservs) and social networks (i.e., member profiles).
As a result, Ning sites are probably great for fan clubs where individuals require more personal self expression.
CollectiveX Groupsites are better for groups (professional and social) that are interested in "making things happen."
Understanding these differences should help you to choose the platform that is right for you group ;-)
Thank You. Your explanation makes easier to present the important facts concerning the differences.
