Responses to Emails

When a user receives an email from the group, is it possible to reply back to the email and have the message posted back to the group site? This is a feature that is available in Yahoo Groups. At a minimum, we would like to have the users click on a link within the email message so that they are redirected to the discussion forum without having to log-on to the site.
Any thoughts if the above is feasible or planned functionality in the future?
Thanks,
SJ

Suresh,
Groupsites do not allow users to reply back to an email and have their message posted to the Groupsite via their email client. That said, we have some outstanding features that allow users to reply to an email in a single click -- and in a way that we believe is more condusive to building community than email activity alone.
Groupsites allow managers (or managers and users, depending on the settings the manager has chosen) to create a discussion from an email blast. When the option "Create a New Discussion from this Blast?" is selected, a user can reply to an email blast by clicking the "Click Here to Join the Discussion" from within the email.
By choosing this option, a user will be immediately redirected to the discussion forum (without having to re-log-in if they are already logged-in to their Groupsite).
If this capability is of interest, you can check out this "how to" FAQ:
How to Create a Discussion from an Email Blast
A member can also easily choose to send a private message, instead, to the author of the original email.
I'm sure we'll continue to evaluate the possibility of allowing users to reply by email without logging into their Groupsite as time, our users, technology and the platform progress. However, we are not currently looking into adding this functionality for reasons stated.
I have users who want to do the same thing (reply to a discussion post via email) because they use a mobile device most of the time and it's way easier to respond via email than to login to a website when you are on mobile. The users always reference Yahoo Groups and this ability. We are looking at ning vs you. Can you add this to your feature request list?
Thanks.
Jonathan - We agree it's important to help mobile users. We do intend to provide users with the ability to reply to a discussion directly from their inbox (and receive email as plain text) in the future.
Any estimate on when this functionality will be implemented?
Hi EsterLeah,
FYI, we are currently working on functionality to allow you to create and reply to discussion posts via a unique email address that's associated with your Groupsite. We will keep you posted about the details, but we expect to release this functionality sometime in late October.

Excellent. I am waiting this for a long time.
Looking forward to it!
Great, I shall be able to move at least two of my yahoo groups to groupsite when this happens.
Hi Vishwadeep,
We will keep you posted.
