Tony - The following video shows you how to manage subgroup member status including making them a subgroup administrator:
Thank you for that. I believe I've watched it and tried to follow the instuctions.
However, when I change the SUBGROUP members status from Member to Administrator, a popup is displayed asking to confirm I wish to give Administrative privileges to the member, I click OK, and it appears to set the members status appropriately. But, when I click Manage Members again, within the SUBGROUP, the members status has reverted to Member? Note: Visibility of my SUBGROUP is set to Limited
Any thoughts?
Regards
Tony
Sorry, but your answer dose not solve the problem. Is this a BUG? Or, am I doing something wrong? It is just NOT working as you say it should.
Has anyone else had any issues trying to make a member of a subgroup an administrator of that group? This is now holding me up somewhat; I'd be delighted to have this fixed or have my hands slapped for doing something stupid, if only I knew what that was
Regards
Tony - No hand slapping needed yet. Looks like we may have a bug. Looking into it now.

To answer Kirby's question about the situation with his board and the full chorus - in our organization, we have actually gone ahead and created a whole new groupsite for our board members. With easy groupsite switching, and the ability for them to see a summary of all their groups, this seems to work rather well.
Seems problem of setting a member to Administrator of a SUBGROUP is now fixed. So, if someone has eradicated a bug, Thank you very much.

Can we change the name of the "Subgroups" tab to just "Groups" ?? I've tried doing this in the basic options section of the subgroup settings area but I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks.
I have just tested this at one of my networks.. The main thing to keep an eye on, is make sure, that when you decide to change the "subGroup" (wording) it needs to be less then 20 characters long.. I simply clicked on the "subGroup" tap and followed the directions..
True.. it should allow you to change the "Name" of the tab.. (as Mine did allowed for this) But, I did not try changing just the word to "group".. this could be where this issue lays..
Perhaps one needs to "refresh" the page, and see if this resets everything. I have had to fresh a few times while adjusting some "Welcome" messages..

Ah you are right my friend.. Something within Collectivex's markup.. eveadently Collectivex needs to explain why the word "Group" is not allowed.
Brian / Wizard - We don't do a good job of explaining this in the system but the reason we do not allow the use of the word "group(s)" in renaming subgroups is to avoid confusion of terms throughout the Groupsite. In many places, we use the term group as part of the system language and we didn't want users to be confused between Groupsite functionality and Subgroup functionality.
Hope that makes sense.

I have created a few pages that I would like visible only to a subgroup. And I would like to create additional pages that are only visible to a subgroup. Is this possible? I don't see that in the menu for a subgroup. Other than the home page, there doesn't seem to be any ability to create pages visible to subgroups and your module capabilities works fine for what I want to create. Can you help me figure this out?
Is it possible for members of a subgroup to set up their profile so they get automatic e-mail notifications every time someone posts something to the subgroup (discussion, file, etc.) but NOT to have the notifications every time someone posts to the main groupsite? Our state chapter leaders are NOT happy that we took away their old listserv and ported them all over to a subgroup on our groupsite. They say they forget to visit the site on a regular basis and miss getting the e-mails automatically in their in box. But of course they don't want notification from all 2,600 members of the main group every time something is posted there. Can you help?
Kathleen - 2 thoughts on your question about subgroup activity notification:
1. When we built sub-groups, we did so with one basic assumption in mind and that was that any subgroup member would first be an active Groupsite member and then become a member of the subgroup.
If you find these state chapter leaders have little interest in participating in the broader Groupsite and prefer to spend their time just with subgroup members, perhaps you should make the subgroup its own Groupsite just for them.
2. That being said, they way you have it today, they could set their Groupsite Recent Activity Updates preferences to "never" (click here for a video on how to do this) and then, once logged into the Groupsite, they could enter their subgroup, and from within their subgroup, go to Discussions and "subscribe" to each Discussion Forum (click here for a video on how to subscribe to a forum). The result would be that anytime anyone in their subgroup posted anything to a subgroup discussion, they would instantly get the full text of each post in their inbox just like an old-school listserv.
They would receive nothing about what is happening within the larger Groupsite.
I hope that helps.

The "request to join" feature of limited subgroups seems to work fine so far, but the button is quite odd... looks like this : /join
...And follows the text "By Invitation Only". Maybe we could change this to only having a large link/button that simply says "request to join" for those who are not already members. Thoughts?
DeAndrea - I'm confused. I am not seeing what you are seeing. I see:
Membership: by Invitation Only Request an Invitation!
Could you send me a screen shot if you are seeing something different?
Thanks,
Shaun
