Many groups allow their members to upload files to the File Cabinet. If this permission is enabled in your Groupsite, here's how you can upload a file:
1. Log into your Groupsite
2. Go to the SHARE tab and select the "File Cabinet" sub-tab
3. Click on the folder where you want to store your file, such as "Group Files."
4. Click the "Upload" button
5. A pop-up box will appear, prompting you to select a file to upload. Choose "Browse" or "Upload" to locate and select your file.
For PC users: Click the "Browse" button, then locate and click on the file from your computer's or a connected drive. Mac users: click the "Upload" button, then locate the file from your computer's or a connected drive. Click "choose" to select the file.
After you select the file, its location and name will appear in the pop-up box.
6. Enter a description for your file (optional).
7. Click "Upload"
You're done.
Note:
- File Cabinet files are group-specific and cannot be viewed in "View All Mode." If you are unable to locate your file cabinet, make sure you have first selected a Groupsite using the "Switch Groupsites" selector drop-down menu located in the top right corner of every Groupsite.
- If permission to upload files is not enabled in your Groupsite, you will not see the Upload button and you may want to contact your Groupsite manager(s) with a request to post your file. To reach a link to your group's manager(s), log-in to your Groupsite then click on the HELP tab on your main navigation bar. An option to contact your managers will be presented in the HELP tab sub-menu.
- Groupsite Managers: The ability to allow all Groupsite members to upload Files to the File Cabinet is included in Premium Permission Controls. If you are a Groupsite Manager and your Groupsite is subscribed to the Premium Permission Controls, enable permission for all Groupsite members to upload files from the MANAGER > Group Settings > Permission Controls page. Scroll down to the "Files & Media Permissions" area and set the permission to "allow all members" to Upload files.
