RSVPs and the Groupsite Calendar

The Groupsite calendar allows for RSVPs.  Here's how it works.

1. Click on the SHARE tab which defaults to the calendar section of your Groupsite.

2. Click the small plus sign next to the date for your event.

3. On the "New Event" page you can add all of the details of your event including choosing to allow RSVPs. You have 3 choices here:

- YES - this allows Groupsite members to RSVP at the Groupsite

- NO - use this when no RSVP is needed (such as adding Groundhog's Day to the calendar)

- ON A SEPARATE WEBSITE - Choosing this option allows you enter in the web address of another website where people can RSVP.  This is great for letting Groupsite members now about events outside of the group.

4. After completing this page, simply hit SUBMIT. Your event will appear on the shared calendar.

5. If your are a Groupsite manager, or if the Groupsite Manager allows all users to send email blasts, you will now have the option to send an RSVP invite to the group which will send an email to their inbox with a description of the event and a link to RSVP.

6. Clicking the "Send an RSVP invite to the group" link opens the WYSIWYG editor where you can customize your invite then hit SEND. All Groupsite members will receive their invite email (unless they've opted out from receiving these).

If you are a Groupsite manager, you can also opt to send this RSVP invite to pending members by checking the "send to pending members" checkbox before hitting SEND. Pending members will receive an email invite but must join the Groupsite before they can RSVP to the event.

Note: you will not see the "+" sign on your calendar to add an event 1) if you are in your network "View All Mode,"  or 2) if group members don't have permission to add calendar events, as determined by your Groupsite manager(s).
