Brand Survey Results

Wow! Thanks for the overwhelming response to our recent Brand Survey. We appreciate your honest feedback and it helped us make the decision to re-brand as Groupsite.com.

Best of all, while you could have remained anonymous, most of you took the time to identify yourselves. We love getting real feedback from real people.

We heard lots of things! Here are some of the standouts:

What do you think the "CollectiveX" brand stands for?

• "No idea, and to me the is somewhat irrelevant as the product is simply soooo good I am not interested in the brand. I use and promote the site and have had amazing feedback from users and groups I have supported to use CollectiveX."
• "From the name, it gives no clues about what you guys actually do - sorry!"
• "Bringing people together collectively. I don't know what the 'X' stands for. I think it's confusing."

What do you think the brand "Groupsite" stands for?

• "Is there a difference between Groupsite and CollectiveX? If there is, I only see one."
• "Not a lot, but it is a way to define the location of the group and distinguishes itself from a SharePoint site."
• "Whoops, didn't realize the difference as in my previous answer."

What do you think is the "CollectiveX/Groupsite" brand promise? In other words, what do you expect to receive from CollectiveX/Groupsite services, staff and products?

• "Easy. Consistent. Even my sweet, computer-challenged husband could figure it out."
• "Great features and functionality at a great price and responsiveness on the part of the team."
• "An intuitive, easy to use product with fast, friendly, knowledgeable support."

Do you think the CollectiveX team reflects that brand promise?

(Many replied "most of the time" and a good chunk said "always." But we have only have one goal - "always.")

What brands do you admire and why?

Apple, Google and Southwest led the pack.

• "They stand for innovation and simplicity and remain on the forefront in their industry."
• "Because what you see is what you get there."
• "They are offer value for affordable prices and they are consistent"

What is one thing you would change about your Groupsite that would make it easier to use?

• "I wish my friends who aren't so used to 2.0 weren't so freaked out by new things -- maybe if there were short (SHORT) videos to help them understand how this worked. (uh-oh, are there?)"
• "I would make the tiny ? icon say "HELP" so I knew what it was."

From the survey, 3 things jumped out at us:

1. We had not done a very good job of clearly defining our brand and our brand positioning in the marketplace.

2. Many people feel we have a great service that works and believe that our team cares about the success of the groups that use Groupsites.

3. Most of our best ideas on how to make the Groupsite experience even more user-friendly come from our engaged users. We love the constant feedback!

And finally, while I myself am an XL, we were happy to see that most of the t-shirt requests were for small, medium and large. That means you're probably not planning to wear it as a night shirt, and are instead looking forward to helping us proudly wave the Groupsite flag!

Thanks again for your time. And please, keep letting us know how we are doing. It helps us continue to create the best social collaboration tool available.
