Page titles need to have more information and related to the page you are viewing.

When you edit an existing calendar event, the page title is the URL of the page, when it should be something along the lines of GROUPSITE NAME - Calendar. Or whatever your protocol is.

This is definitely true, but not unique to the Calendar! This is very common throughout the site that page titles need to be more informative.
I'm going to change the title of this post to reflect the wider scope of this issue.
