Spell Check

Hi there,

Are there any plans to integrate a spell checker into the text editors?  I know FF has one embedded, but it would be useful for the non-FF members out there.

Thanks!

Does anyone really use anything besides FF? Smile

Seriously, that is a great suggestion worth investigating.

If only it were that easy for web-developers.

Yes, we've considered it, and there are actually some fairly simple solutions that we could use either involving sending stuff to Google, or running some standardized open source spell checkers on our servers.

It's just a matter of time and prioritization and available man hours.  Smile

I'm all for a spell checker.  As one who authors a lot of content on my groupsites, I could use it.  I can't believe how many speling errorss I make without realizing it, just to discover it days later when I re-read one of my posts.  Emberasssing. Wink

As posted in this topic.. I was referring to the way the text entry box was working for me.. Granted I'm use to the "other" guys system of entering text and images.. which was easier.. But the same holds true here.. If by chance I happen to be on the "basic editor" and just by chance I right click to do a spell check.. I wouldn't get a spell check.. but rather a drop down list of "Copy, Paste, etc"

So I would move to the next stage, "Advanced Editor".. and again try the "spell check" and nope.. can't get it to work for me.. Alright next stage.. "HTML Source".. Ah yes worked that time.. I'm able to right click spell check and move on.. Trouble is, I have to hunt and peck my way through HTML coding just to see my misspelled words.. and some times My spell check may just miss a word or two.. and even ask for corrections to the html coding.. like (Img = Image) which doesn't need correcting.

So as you can see.. I have allot to do when I try to post anything anywhere on the collectivex network.. Hey I'm not complaining.. or am I..
