"Rate This" from a Shared Link apparently not functioning

Yes, the in-menu version does have issues in certain browsers.  We are going to replace it with a popup dialog version instead.

However, you can always rate the link by clicking on it and then rating it from the top navigation bar.

Let me know if this workaround doesn't work for you.

Unfortunately I WAS referring to the version in the top navigation bar.  It doesnt work for me. Interestingly I didn't even know about the in-menu version until you mentioned it and so I tried it out once I found it... it doesn't work either (at least, not for me anyway).

We'll look into it asap. I noticed the bug as well.  Discuss this links have also been affected. 

Resurrecting this thread, I'm noticing this as an error in Safari on the Mac and Safari on the PC. Seems to work in IE on the PC.

It seems like ratings are not that useful in that I can't see the rating without having to click. My suggestion for an enhancement would be to have the ratings viewable, perhaps on the same line as the "Submitted by..." line, thereby increasing users desire to rate and engage with content in a more active way. Personally I'd really also like to see the ability to rate other items like discussion posts and comments, and then perhaps a viewable history of those items I've rated so I could go back and easily find and read them again. Ok, I guess I'm really describing something like digg.com's UI :-)

Bill - I agree.  With have done essentially nothing with ratings and I think perhaps we should. At the same time, we need to assume that most of our users don't even know what Digg is.  The way we use ratings will need to be intuitive to the first time user who has never used them before. We'll give some thought to it and as always, we welcome any specific suggestions you (or any other Champions who are reading this discussion) may have.
