Tagging?

Did we get member tagging with the new release? On the summary page I can add a members module and view By Tag. But I can't figure out where members are actually tagged. I didn't see the tagging incorporated anywhere else, like email blast only to those tagged with XYZ or RSVP event to only those tagged with ABC. We have a lot of sub-groups within our groupsite, and we're looking for ways for people to target their notification or event to a subset of the group.

Ditto! I was really hoping to see member tagging with this release. It's vital for those of us who have sub-groups. Thanks.

Thanks a million for your questions. Tagging is currently not available in this initial release. However, we are working on it and will provide a solid date of release shortly.

Doh! Tagging was the big upgrade we were waiting for. We need to tag members and events ASAP!

Any update on the release date for tagging? I put off a huge initiative because I thought it was comming with this release. I know CollectiveX is working hard to enahnce the tool. I thought I'd just check so I know how to proceed.

Lethia - We understand the power that tagging will bring to Groupsites and look forward to delivering this added functionality, however, as we work hard to continue to keep Groupsites the leading tool for Social Collaboration, we are not setting any release dates so as not to mismanage expectations. It has been our style to under promise and over deliver and we look forward to that random Tuesday at 3:17 when we can have you log-in and discover that tagging has been added to the platform.
I understand the anxiety this might cause and regret that we put the word on tagging out their pre-maturely.

I've recently had members asking about tagging again. There are many times that we need to have the ability to email blast only certain people within our group, yet we'd like to keep the majority of conversations on the main site. Are we getting any closer to have the tagging option?
Another related suggestion was to have the option to PM a group of people. Perhaps there could be a checklist of the members, from which we could select the ones for whom the PM/email blast is intended.
Apart from member tagging we need Discussion Tagging as well. Tag a discussion with a Keyword and the ability to search Discussions based on the keyword to choose from a Tag Cloud. This is very common feature that is available in large number of Discussion boards available. Having this Discussion feature will reduce the number of Discussion Forums that needs to be created.
