How can I use Network info with my group?

"Key Connections" and "Current objectives"? What is the purpose of this feature? How can we utilize this and How do I encourage my group to use this?
This section is found under "My Settings" on the tab that is farthest to the right on the screen. No group that I have joined shows a high percentage of sharing.

These are probably the two "features" that my group doesnt use at all. I'd be curious to hear from groups that use these features extensively.
Gareth - Both of these features will have greater visibility in the next release making them easier to use. Additionally, our upcoming Content Customization feature will allow you to turn either or both of these off if you feel they are not relevant for your group.
Key Connections is what lead Mike Arrington of TechCrunch to say, "CollectiveX is what LinkedIn should have been from the start". It is our way of facilitating networking by allowing you to share those trusted connections you have (outside of the group) that other group members may want an introduction to to help make things happen.
Objectives can run the gamut. I have found both my house cleaner and a nanny for ny son Jack through posting objectives in a Groupsite. This is a way to make a specific ask of the group or share what you are currently trying to accomplish. I often look at members objectives to see how I might point them toward a resource that can help them achieve their goals.

Lethia - I think the only person more anxious to see the next release go live than you is me!
We are crazy excited about what this release is going to bring but we also need to make sure it is done right since we will be converting all 16,000+ Groupsites at one time.
It is right around the corner (as in, before our next newsletter hits) so thanks for your continued patience.

Great question, Lethia, about the how to maximize the use of those two features: "Key Connections" and "Objectives. " And thank you Shaun for your reply. You helped confirm what I suspected in terms of their use.

Even if these features have merit, I sure would like the ability to TURN THEM OFF from my group... I had hoped Version Two would have the ability to turn some features off like these two.
Mark - We intend to add that capability as part of our Content Customization premium feature. Didn't get it done before we locked things down to get this release out the door.
