Managers add photos to profiles
This is my first post to the CollectiveX Champions group. I have been using CollectiveX since the beginning of this year, and before that I used Ning and other network-building tools.
One of my pet peeves is the failure of group members to post photos. Not only do I believe it diminishes community, but if it goes on indefinitely, I think it is just rude. The physical world equivalents are standing with your back to other people or wearing a mask. When you fail to post your photo to a group, you're sending a message that it just isn't that important to you and thus the other people in the group aren't that important either.
So, I would like to propose a new feature: give group managers the ability to add photos to member profiles without granting them any other access to those profiles. This way, members could send photos to the group manager or the group manager could add a more useful placeholder, such as a company logo.
I create these communities with my clients, and if I had this kind of access, I could get photos from the client organization (if they have them) and add them in myself. Now I must rely on members to do it themselves.
Just a thought. I think it would be a useful tool to facilitate community building. Thanks!

Jeff,
Congrats on your first post.
It is an excellent idea and, assuming that I understood properly, it is something that you can already do.
In the Manage Members sub-tab of the Manager area, you should see an add photo link in place of the member's photo whenever a member does not have a photo. Similarly, if the member is using an inappropriate photo, etc., you can remove that photo from their profile. Of course, these actions only apply to the group that you're managing. It won't disturb the member's photos in any other group that they belong to.
Was that what you were looking for?
Joe:
Thanks for responding to my post. Yes, this feature is exactly what I was looking for and I'm glad it's already there. In fact, I'm a little surprised I didn't find it myself
Thanks for pointing me to it. It's great to have this option.
