Editing Join Page

Hi ,

Is there a way to edit the Join page? I want to add a custom message to the page.  Right now I can see a generic message but can't find on my manage group settings page a place to edit this message.  If I can't edit this message is there a way to add custom text other than the profile questions?

Thanks,

Danielle Ascione

Yes, Yes And Yes.. all of the above.. But first just wanted to make sure your in the right screen.. The "welcome" screen is what your asking about?.. always look for the little "gears" in the top right hand corner of each window. this will allow you to edit which ever mode or window you've selected.

Note: Having two different browser windows is even better.. One your edit from while the other you would refresh just to see what it would look like afterward.

Here is a tip.. Open two screens of your main page.. One you can edit, while the other you can keep track of what it will end up looking like.. I use this method all the time.. constantly making corrections.. and errors.

As for the profile questions.. This would be located under the "My Settings" (top right of your page) Or you maybe viewing just a "blank" page because you haven't actually created a groupsite..

Once you've created a group site you can then make the necessary edits to your profile.. even if you create a test site.. IE: TESTSITE1010 etc just to make the edits to your profile.. then delete or keep the page as a back up.

Once you've created a test page.. You should see the "manager" tab.. drop down and locate the groups options.. from there you can make any necessary adjustments to the page.. (within the limits of your account)

I hope somewhere within my ramblings you found your answer.

Hi Danielle,

I'm happy to help!  We need some additional
information to clarify your request.  If you need a little more privacy
so that you are not sharing specific information about your Groupsite
publicly, please feel free to write to Support directly:
support@groupsite.com

I'm not sure if you are requesting
assistance with your  "Public" "Summary Page" which has a "/summary"
after your group's URL.  A potential member can click on your 'Join"
link from this page.  Or are you referring to the actual join page which
has a "/join" after your group's URL.  Can you confirm?  Can you also
identify which message you would like to edit?  Sending a screen shot
will be very helpful to us to better understand the question.

Hi -

Here is the webpage I am talking about https://auntl.groupsite.com/join

The specific section is

Create your Account

You are an approval away from enjoying the benefits of centralized communication and networking with other AU/NTL Association members.

I am wondering if I can edit this statement to add additional information about our membership requirements or if there is another place on this page that I can add text.

Hope this helps direct you.

Danielle

Hi Danielle,

I'm sorry, the section that you referenced is automatically generated by our system and cannot be edited by a Groupite Manager.  Have you considered the following options:

1. If what you are planning to add requires acceptance from the user, try wording the information in the form of a Required Custom Profile Question that will be seen on the Join page along with the others that you currently have listed. Or

2. Since you have a "Public" Home Page, you could include the information that you want in a "Welcome Module" on your Home Page. Or

3. Depending on the information that you are attempting to add, you could edit your Groupsite's Invitation Template to include this information.

We hope this helps.  If you need additional assistance, please write to us at support@groupsite.com

Sincerely,
