Private site has now gone public

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help I have been running http://trainingattention.groupsite.com since sept 2011 when I set it up as Private. For some reason it has gone public. I check in general setting - Permission settings - visibility but I don't seem to have an option any more to set to private. Am I looking in the right place or should I be doing somehting else. Thanks for any help. Regards Sarah

We're happy to help! We confirmed that your Groupsite was never established as a "Private" Groupsite. It was established as "Public" Groupsite. Your visibility is set to "Everything But User Profiles" which means it is "Public".
The reason that you cannot currently change the visibility from "Public" to "Private" is on June 27, 2011, we made changes to our free offering. We added limitations to the free offering that did not exists prior to June 27, 2011. One limitation added was free sites can now only have "Public" visibility.
We did notice that your site was created prior to the free site changes that occurred on June 27, 2011. If your free site had been set up as "Private" when it was created, your free site would have been "Grandfathered" . This means that your free site would have retained any "In Use" features, including site visibility. Considering this information, please write to us at support@groupsite.com so that we can discuss options with you directly.
