Groupsite emails and Gmail

Noticed that all my groupsite emails were in my Gmail spam for maybe the past 6-7 days. Not sure if groupsite changed anything in the header of the emails sent or gmail "changed" their spam filters. Two other people I checked with had the same problem, but a third did not.
Just thought I'd pass along.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your feedback! No we did not change anything on our end, but we think GMail may have made spam filtering changes recently. They just
started adding reasons why something is in your spam folder. This post
that we found explains:
http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/20/google-adds-spam-explanation-to-gmail
We discovered this while trouble shooting spam issues for a Groupsite Manager who uses another mail client on top of Gmail. This Groupsite manager's mail from Groupsite and other sources as well, just recently started going into their spam filter. The tricky part for this Groupsite manager was their Groupsite email and other email landed in their Gmail spam box and not their final destination spam box (they use another mail client on top of Gmail). This manager had to log directly into Gmail to retrieve their mail, then whitelist these mail sources.
I am sharing this particular scenario in case it is relevant to members in your Groupsite. We are currently looking at options to prevent these types of changes from having such a negative impact on our users. Please let me know if you need additional assistance.

And this other Groupsite manager is very glad for your help!

LOL! It's my pleasure Robin!

Thanks Celeste... Definitely a concern for our group... even if I put out a blast from my group, the affected people would not get it
We'll look for other ways to communicate so they can whitelist groupsite emails.
Here is the scarier part... The response to this thread were all in my spam. Since each message coming from the groupsite has a different "from" (yours was users+5@champions.groupsite.com), it doesn't seem I can solve with simply adding a single groupsite entry to the whitelist. Need to investigate with Gmail more.
Hi Chris,
We agree that this is an issue and because of the Gmail spam filtering changes, we do not believe that white listing every sender's email is a reasonable permanent solution. That's why we are currently working with our mail provider to make adjustments on our end to help resolve deliverability issues created by these recent changes. More to come on this.
