Subgroup files question

We have teams formed as subgroups and have noticed that unless you an author of a document, you cannot delete or change a document that a team might be working on together. Also, if a team member leaves the subgroup, members cannot access or change a document(there is no check box beside the document) Can you allow everyone in a subgroup permission to edit or change documents in their subgroup folders? Pam

Hi Pam,
We're sorry, Groupsites do not currently have file versioning, or any sort of file check-in / check-out.
We do offer a shared file cabinet, where managers and members may
upload files for other members (or, non-members in the case of public
files) to access and download from the Groupsite.
Members can also re-name files at the time of upload, and delete any
file that they, themselves, have uploaded. Premium permissions are also
available that allow managers to prohibit general members from uploading
files.
Once a file is uploaded into the File Cabinet, a Groupsite manager and/or the member who uploaded the file can:
replace the file with a new one;
change the file's name;
change the upload date of the file;
enter or modify a description of the file;
This is done by editing the file. Here's how:
1. Log-in to your Groupsite and go to the SHARE tab.
2. Select the File Cabinet subtab.
3. Locate the file you want to change.
4. Click on the cogwheel button:
5. An "Edit File" window will pop up:
Enter the changes you want in the appropriate fields, or browse out and select a new file if you're replacing an existing file with an updated one.
If you are entering a custom file name, do not include symbols ($, :, +, etc.)
If you are entering a custom file date, enter it as month/day/year, like this: 01/10/09
6. Click the EDIT button.
Your changes will be saved.
Note: if you aren't a manager in your Groupsite, you may not have the ability to upload a file to the File Cabinet. The ability to do so is determined at the group level, on a Groupsite-by-Groupsite basis, as determined by each Groupsite's manager(s).
If you need additional assistance, this link to our Group Blog should help, or you can write to us at support@groupsite.com:

Is it possible to allow all members to upload files to a folder but only have managers be able to view and download them?
If not, do you have another suggestion as to how we could use our Groupsite to allow members to submit homework files?
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
We're sorry, a Groupsite File Cabinet is currently structured to support restricting who can upload files ("Managers Only" or "All Members"). Once a file is uploaded, it can accessed by any "member" of the Groupsite unless it is uploaded to a "Manager Only" folder by a Manager or uploaded to a Subgroup File Cabinet. .
There are numerous Groups on our Platform who utilize their Groupsite as a "virtual classroom "who may be better able to offer you suggestions for your particular use case.
Can anyone in our Champions community offer any suggestions to Daniel regarding submitting homework via a Groupsite?.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Would love some tips from anyone who's using Groupsite about a good way to post homework publicly and accept it privately. Thanks!
