Misc Page

Our Group's Summary Page is open to the public but the rest of the site is not. When I look at the statistics on use it shows a lot of hits on a 'misc' page. What does that mean? Is that when they click anywhere else and get the 'join' requst because they can't go any further?

Hi Hudson,
Your assumption is correct. Miscellaneous is kind of a grab bag because it is everything that wasn't given a category. Views of the login page make up the majority of the the Misc action. Are you concerned that
the number of pages reporting as misc is too high?

Hello Celeste,
Our community is showing a dramatic increase in number of total page views, as compared to January 2011. (15,567 for total month of January 2011 compared to 18,957 as of this morning for year to date), based on the statistics page within the Groupsite metrics. This trend has continued for the past several months.
When I check my Google Analytics for the same site address, I get a much different number (2,251 total page views for the month of January 2011 as compared to 1,536 for the month of January to date, 2012.) The trend is actually reversed. My question is, Why the difference? What is Groupsite measuring that Google is not? How valid are the numbers in the statistics page for the online community, both for total page views and for unique visitors?
Thanks for your insights.
Mark
