Is it possible to embed the HTML code for Addthis to a blog entry within a Group site?

I am working to increase the ability of our members to share the information of our blog entries and would am exploring embedding the code for the Addthis site, which displays the social media/email share this toolbar for a site. I'm really only looking to add this to our blog section, and have attempted to add it to an individual blog, but with no success. Is this something that would be possible or does this come through the Groupsite admin? Thank you.

Mark,
I was able to add the AddThis code snippet, and then successfully share the link. You would need to add the AddThis code into each of your blog posts using the HTML source tab of the text editor. Then, as long as your Groupsite or its blog are public, non-members will be able to view and access the blog post link that your members share.
I tested using the Email Newsletter option of AddThis (it allowed me to enter the URL of the blog post). AddThis provides some choices in the look, and here's an example that I used:
And, yes, everything worked properly when I chose to share it in LinkedIn:
Thanks Diana. That is great. I had embedded the HTML code this weekend and it didn't display the Addthis icon. On further research, it is the fact that our site is private right now. Should that change, it is good to know we can do that. Thanks so much.

Mark, if it's appropriate for your group, you can change the visibility settings for your blog to be public. This would make just your blog pages visible to non-members of your Groupsite, while the rest of the Groupsite remained private.
If you want to experiment with that option, the settings for blog visibility are located under MANAGER > Group Settings > then click the area in the Permission Settings area.
Thanks, Diana. That is great. I'll get to work on it.
Is it possible to embed blogs from experts into my site blog area?
Hi Crystal,
You can embed HTML code into any individual blog post you create, and paste content in via the text editor.
