List of Subgroups is too long

Greetings,
My groupsite has around 40 subgroups and some of my members are members of all subgroups. As a result, their profile displays a very long list of subgroups to which they belong to. Is there a way to either get rid of this profile element or modify it so that it only shows 3-4 subgroups?

Unlike other areas of your personal profile, the subgroup element cannot currently be hidden. It was not designed in this manner. I will make a note that this is a feature enhancement request.
