removing a member signed up twice

Hi Celeste

I accidently accepted 3 people twice as a member.  If I cancel their membership will this mean both their profiles will disappear or only one.  Given the difficulty getting members to sign up I am lothe to delete them altogether and then have to ask them to sign up again if there is another way around it.
