Newbie Question - eMail Weekly Updates

Hi,

Re: HRSite - https://firstgrouphr.groupsite.com

Hoping someone can advise a newbie. My Members are reporting that they are not receiving any weekly update emails. I think I have the settings configured correctly. Can someone advise if it's triggered by a certain number of updates (i.e. is not sent below a certain level of input on the site, but is sent if over the minimum?). Otherwise, can u please confirm the settings for this feature?

Thanks

Hi Niall,

I will start by explaining how Recent Activity Updates work so that I know we are on the same page.

1. As the Groupsite Manager, you have the ability to determine how often you want to alert "Pending" members of activity.  You have opted to alert "Pending Members" of activity every two weeks.  You do not have this same option with current members.

2. Regarding current members, each individual member gets to decided how often they receive recent activity updates and which type of updates.  This is not decided by the Groupsite Manager, but by the user (we do have system defaults as well).  What you get to decide for current members is this:

"Alert group members of recent group activity" ; Your options are 1. unless they opt-out 2.  Only if they Opt-in .  You selected, "Unless they opt-out.

3.  The user/member decides how often they want to receive recent activity updates by making changes here:

Go to "My Setting" Tab; then "My Preferences" sub tab. Scroll down to the "My Email Preferences" section.  This is the area in which each user controls their email receipt frequency and what they want to receive.  You selected for yourself that you want to receive Recent Activity updates twice a week and you want to receive all activities.

Here are the options for what you can receive:

Profile Updates

Key Connections & Objectives

Miscellaneous Updates

Calendar Updates

Discussion Updates

Files & Media Updates

Each user get to make their own selection.

One other thing your members should do is to verify that mail from our system is not ending up in their Spam/Junk Folders.

The source of email delivery issues can be very obscure, as so many entities, servers and hand-offs are involved along the way.

To be certain that Groupsite.com mail is not being blocked or going to your members' SPAM filter, please have the users add to their address book or white list:

·      mailer@groupsite.com

·      notifier@groupsite.com

·      support@groupsite.com

·      news@groupsite.com

Please ensure that they have checked their junk folder in addition to their spam box folder for the notifications.

Please let us know if you need additional assistance after your members take the above steps.  You can write to us at   support@groupsite.com.

Sincerely,

Celeste Sharper Wooten

What kinds of things are included in "Miscellaneous Updates"? Would that include a new blog post? Someone sharing photos? Etc

thanks...

Hi Sid,

I can confirm that notification of new blog posts are included in your Recent Activity Updates if you choose "Miscellaneous Updates." I'm honestly not sure if someone sharing photos gets reported by choosing "Miscellaneous Updates" or if you'd have to choose "Files & Media." I'll see if anyone on our team has more detail.
