Sub-group manager email blast to pending members too?

One of our sub-group managers is sending out an email blast to the members of her sub-group.


She reports that she does not have the "Send to Pending Members" checkbox at the bottom of the form.


It's important to make sure everyone receives email blasts both existing and pending members.


All members are permitted to send email blasts. (we had to enable this in order to allow sub-group managers to send blasts)


We suspect sub-group Managers not allowed to include pending members? Have we missed something?

Hi Joe,


We're sorry for the trouble!  This is a bug.  We have opened ticket # 10203755 to resolve.  We also believe that although the send to "pending members" box is visible in the Subgroup Email Blast for Groupsite Managers,  that it too is not working.  For now, I have included both scenarios under the same ticket.  We will notify you when we have an update for this ticket.

If this feature does not work - why is it still there? Why not either grey out the check box or temporarily remove it so there is no confusion until it is fixed and actually works?

Hi Joe,


The "send to pending members" feature for subgroups was removed.  You will no longer see it on Email and Discussion Blasts.  If you are still seeing it, you are more than likely seeing it at the main group level.  Send to pending members at the main group level works fine.  Can you tell me where you still see it? We may have missed a spot.


We are still deciding what to do with the "send to pending members" feature for  subgroups.  We know that this feature negatively impacts our company's standing as it relates to getting blacklisted as spammers.  This is particularly a problem since we are planning on rolling out functionality that allows you to respond to email/discussion blasts from your email inbox.  We do not want to end up in a situation where we are blocked from email addresses such as comcast.net or yahoo.com.  For this reason, we are seriously considering permanently retiring "send to pending members" for subgroups.


I will keep you posted.  Sorry for not updating you on this ticket, but we are not yet sure how we are going to proceed.
