Over the past few months, we have had an increasing number of Yahoo Groups leave that world to join us here on CollectiveX. Many have referred to us as "Yahoo Groups 2.0" or "The next evolutionary step for groups." We are looking for these stories from those of you that used to Yahoo and now are using CollectiveX.
Why did you switch?
How did it go?

*I switched from yahoo because....
*I wanted to receive as well as give more to our facilitating networkers.
*I have a growing network to contend with
*I wish myself, as well as our universal peace keeping participants to receive a personal touch. This I feel Collectivex give!
Many thanks to you Collectivex .
We are busy raising funds to upgrade and support our supportes! Yes indeed!

I switched my chapters from using Yahoo to using Collective X and the main reason is because Collective X seems more social with the member profiles and the updates, etc., are in the type of format that encourages interaction. I knew that if I was more inclined to use it, my volunteers would be as well and so far I've been right! Collective X has been an amazing online relationship-building tool for me and I have promoted it to my colleagues on the ASAE Component Relations Listserve as such.
Ah.. Now we are talking.. Not only do you have Yahoo, but MSN, MySpace, Facebook coming over.. Just to name a few.. But to the riches come the spoils.. be prepared to turn some users away. These that you turn away have used and abused all of the above listed groups and networks spamming and harass one another.. I still see this happening upon my return there once in awhile. I think people are getting fed up with having to deal with bots.. or the "rude" youth of these lower networks. So if you ask me.. (and I have already stated my option here in another post) I am beginning to feel at ease and home here.. Your system is very straight forward.. to the point and ease of navigation. But keep in mind.. I am not a "expert" at anything.. "Having a Wizard's Name doesn't mean one is". So if you start adding widgets, and some of these foolish addons. you'll be no beter then the other guys.. "keep it simple and keep it real" and you have done this.
