Whats the best way to add links specific to a subgroup?

Hello I'm starting a groupsite at ausocpc.groupsite.com and I'd like to add links specific to 5 subgroups. For example there's a technology subgroup.
I noted on the technology subgroup main page that shared links wasn't in the main menu. So I searched around the pages and found that you could add a module on the technology blog.
However, when I try to add the shared links module to the technology blog it automatically brings up the main shared links.
That's not what I want...want to create a specific link roll for the subgroup.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

Hi Trish,
We do currently have one uniform Shared Links module meaning any links created in one module will be displayed anywhere you create another Shared Links module. We are looking to add the functionality for multiple Shared Links modules in the future.
In the meantime, you can create a Freeform Text Module and create links to specific subgroups there. You can even use images. You'll have a lot more freedom in that module as well.
Let us know if you have more questions.
All the best,
Ravi
Ravi, I note your answer above.
I have similar situation to Trish. I have created seven topic pages on my site and want separate links for each page. I see that I can do this with files (pointing back to different folders).
Your kluge for Trish (text module) won't work for me as I want my users to be able to submit the links.
Hi Daniel -
Our current functionality provides only one set of shared links across the application. So...while you can place the shared links module on multiple pages, the shared links displayed within the module will be the same anywhere the module is used.
We agree that extending this capability to multiple pages would be a worthwhile feature....and, it's been documented for consideration under Ticket #11574519. Unfortunately, I don't know if it is a simple or complex change or when it might be considered among all the priorities.
For collaboration purposes, you may be able to create a "Shared Links - <Subject>" topic in your discussion forums, where <Subject> is specific to each of your seven topics. You can customize the forum detail to indicate that folks should post and share relevant links to each of those forums. I realize that may not be ideal but it may be worth trying. Depending on what you need overall, you may also be able to consider subgroups (the discussion forum would already be topical to that subgroup).
