Login Screen Not User Friendly

When a user is not logged in and they click on a link that requires them to be logged in they get a screen like this.  This screen is confusing and many of my members don't know what to do.  Not sure why, maybe the login is too small.  Can this be improved?

Hi Mark,

Just following up... are your users finding the Login Screen changes less confusing?

Sincerely,

Celeste

I don't see any changes, please advise what has improved.  Thanks much.

Hi Mark,

This is the screen you get when you are a member of a Groupsite but not logged in and you try to respond to an Email blast/discussion from your Email inbox.  The Login is front and center (see below).

This is what I see.  On the left is an example of what I receive in my email (gmail).  It is a formatted email with various links.  The first link takes me directly to other members profiles.  When I click this link and I'm not logged into my groupsite, it brings me to the screen you see on the right.

Hi Mark,

I see... the changes that were made would not have helped you with a Public group that anyone can join.  Here is what is going on: if you are not logged in and you belong to a Public (anyone can join Groupsite) and you do not have Cookies enabled where it remembers you or you have cleared your Cookies, our system will not recognize you as a Groupsite member.  This does not happen with Private Groups or invitation or request for approval. We do plan to address this issue in the future.  I have no time frame for this Frown.

Sincerely,

Celeste

Ok, thanks.  It is not urgent, but could be an easy fix and remove some confusion.  As far as the cookies, not sure that is really part of the problem.  I've seen it happen on several different computers where I would think cookies would be enabled.  I think it is doing it every time your not logged in regardless of your browser settings.  Can you confirm this?  How can I confirm this?

Thanks for your help.

Mark
