Migration from Ning

Is there a tool for me to easily migrate my group from Ning? Many Ning networks are looking for a new home due to new pricing structure. I love the groupsite features that Ning did not have. Can I expect that the free option will be around for a while? We are a non-profit and cost is definitely an issue.

Leslie - Groupsites do not have an import feature from other platforms. But, you can create a Groupsite in 3 minutes or less! You can set your Groupsite's membership settings to allow anyone to join, or upon approved request, and just publish the link to your Ning membership. Or, you can send invitations from within your Groupsite. You can copy and paste email addresses into the invitations area.
You can learn more about Groupsite visibility and membership settings from our product tour and Managers FAQs pages.
We have no current plans to change our Basic (free) plan, as well as very affordable monthly and annual premium options. You can read more and get started here.
