New to Groupsite

I am new to groupsite, and have little experience with creating web-sites. I am familar with microsoft sharepoint site. I am looking to build a professional private web-site.

I am willing to pay for some help, but want to maintain the site, and learn how to build one as well, I just don't want it to be done for me.

If anyone is willing to help for free that would be great too.
