Polling

I am new to Groupsite. I see there has been much discussion around polling and it sounds like a ticket has been open to include this feature. Polling would be of value to our community site. When do you expect it to be available?

Hi, Mary -- Welcome to Groupsites and our Champions community!
Adding a polling feature is still on our to-do list and we don't really know when we'll have it. With our hardworking team of 8, the thing we won't do is announce a release date that we may not hit. (We did that in the past and it doesn't help anyone; we'd rather under promise and over deliver).
You may be able to use polldaddy or another simple survey widget to add polls. Other widgets are mentioned here:

We've used Survey Monkey, and then created a hyperlink from our Groupsite (in a dicussion post, email blast, on the SUMMARY page, etc.) to the poll. Here's a post that will show you how to use hyperlinks that may help: http://champions.groupsite.com/post/manager-tip-the-power-of-hyperlinks-2
Hope this helps.

Hi,
There are numerous polling applications available free. We use one from Glowday and you can see a poll on the right panel of our home page http://leansigma.groupsite.com.
Basically a few minutes of making a poll and copy / pasting the script to one of the blocks in Groupsite. We love the html/iframe embed feature.
Just that the inner pages (discussion topics) don't seem to support javascript embeds. Is this being looked at?

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at both Polldaddy and Glowday and they seem to both work well. A work colleague suggested neomyz.com. Since he had already used it and had success, I decided to give it a try. I was pleased with the results. When the community members vote, they can instantly see a pie chart showing the results.
