Groupsite "sluggish" compared to most networking sites

I am relating a comment from members of our Groupsite that they feel Groupsite (or our site, specifically) takes, and I quote, "foooorrreeevvveeerrr" to load. I've heard this off and on for months, and I don't know if member's expectations are out of whack, or there is something we could do to speed up the site. I know when I hear that, I do notice that I can't move from one page without some delay, but then I get used to it again, until someone else brings it up.
Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions that might help with some of my more experienced networking site members. I don't like them complaining to other members, or potential members, as it turns people off using the Groupsite.

Interesting comment. I must admit that I have the same experience.
Performance always matters and we are always taking a hard look at what we can do to ensure strong performance and reliability. For that exact reason, we are currently in the process of migrating our entire platform to a completely new data center. While this is not an easy task and may result in a little pain before we see the gain, we believe it will result in significant performance improvements over the coming weeks.
