Need Option to Email Entire Blog Post
I would like to see an option to email the entire body of the blog post to members immediately upon publication.
We want to use the Blog feature of Groupsite to replace our group's former practice of emailing the newsletter to our group. However, we have a significant number of users who are dissatisfied with this because they have to use a web browser to view the content of the newsletter. They want to go back to being able to read the entire contents right in the body of the email notification (many are reading on their cellphone's email client). We currently have to distribute our newsletters via Discussion because they will only get a mention about the newsletter in their digest.
The blog area is really where newsletters belong, but we can't use it for this purpose as-is.

Jay - That is a good suggestion. Until we can get it implemented, you may want to continue using the Discussions with this slight twist, create a separate Forum called "newsletter" or whatever makes sense for you. Then create each newsletter as a new topic in this forum. Then check the box that says "email the entire group immediately" which will send the entire content of your post as an email.
Finally, if you do nt want this to be something that is discussed but simply read, lock the topic so no further posts can be made. Here's a post that shows how: http://champions.groupsite.com/post/how-to-lock-a-discussion-topic

Yes, please. I'd like Blog posts to go out as emails. I keep the emails from discussion threads I start and use them as an information repository I then forward as needed to those not on the site or as a reminder. I have no easy way to get the blog via email.
