Using audio files

How do you add an audio file that would begin after a member logs in?

I haven't used audio files in Groupsites, but I do know that you can add widgets through our Content Modules -- using either the "Embed Widget/Video" type of Content Module, or by pasting HTML code into a "Freeform Text" type.

Follow this link for info about how to embed a widget:

One note: if the widget is intended to automatically start playing the audio, it would start whenever someone visits the page where you've placed the widget, whether they were logged in or not. If your Groupsite is Public or Limited, that may be something to consider.

Also, we did come across these websites that may help you:

Create a radio widget:  http://www.last.fm/widgets

Create your own DJ list and embed your playlist into an existing website: http://blip.fm/home

mp3 player widget: http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/media

Any Champions members out there using audio files that can comment?

I am not using an audio file specifically in Groupsite, but have in past implementations, and I would warn you that automatic sounds/music coming from  your site ranks very high on the irritation scale for users.

The great majority of website browsers will have a negative reaction to surprise audio when they haven't asked for it, so be sure of your group's needs and expectations before you cause yourself some adverse reaction.

C. Scott - I agree. Especially when you visit a site at your office and before you know it, you are blasting "Freebird" across the office. I am not a big fan of auto-play.

Another difference between Groupsite.com and MySpace or Ning.
